Drained Cavity Solution

Our Drained Cavity Solution is one of many options in Hanson Structherm’s range of External Wall Insulation (Insulated Render) Systems. The system is an efficient and cost-effective rendered cladding method for newbuild projects, requiring the provision of a drained cavity.

Increasingly timber frame or lightweight cold rolled infill panels are being utilised to provide the envelope to domestic dwellings. A drained cavity must be provided between the External Wall Insulation (Insulated Render) System and the frame where this type of construction is used. Hanson Structherm have developed a drained cavity solution specifically for this application, that allows Structherm's External Wall Insulation (Insulated Render) to be applied to these framed structures with a drained cavity.

Features of our Drained Cavity Solution:

  • Incorporates a 15mm drained cavity
  • Fast installation
  • High thermal efficiency
  • Good impact strength
  • Vapour permeable
  • Flexible choice of final texture and colour
  • No expansion joints required*

*Horizontal movement joints may be required if the infill structure has movement joints built in.

Typical Applications:

Suitable for new build, timber/steel framed residential projects.
