Hanson Structherm: Proud Winners of the Sustain’ Magazine Award for Refurbishment 2010

The prestigious Sustain’ Magazine Awards for 2010 were held in The Great Hall at Chelsea Football Club on the evening of 2nd March.

Structherm were pleased to pick up another award for the refurbishment of the Daneville Estate in Liverpool (in partnership with Liverpool Mutual Homes) which extensively utilised Structherm’s unique Structural Insulated Cladding System.

The Sustain’ Magazine Awards recognise projects and organisations at the forefront of housing sustainability best practice.

The awards were presented at a special gala dinner held on the first night of Ecobuild, in London, on Tuesday 2 March 2010. 

With over 450 guests, the glittering event was well represented by a number of diverse professions, including architects, housing developers, engineers, consultants, housing associations and manufacturers all of them industry leaders eager to blaze the trail for sustainability. The event showcased those companies, organisations, projects, products, systems and schemes judged by experts and a panel to have demonstrated excellence in their chosen category.

Mastrick Flats - Refurbishment

Prior to refurbishment, Aberdeen City Council undertook a survey amongst the tenants to establish any issues with the block of flats. Feedback from the tenants highlighted that the balconies of the flats suffered greatly from roosting pigeons, which had made the balconies become virtually off limits
